| Miura pedal system |
graphics/photo |
| Pedal bushings BCN-01972 2ea and BCN-01957 1ea in early Miura were a piece of poly plastic, probably
Vulkollan flat stock cut to size to fit each pedal. The accelerator
and brake take the same width and the clutch took a wider piece. This
poly material fails and comes apart, jamming up the pedal movement. The Miura builds switched to metal backed split bushings during the S series. Two of these MB1815DU split bushings were installed in each pedal pivot. The construction of the bushing is carbon steel with a PTFE inner surface. The part number MB1815DU, with MB as metal backed, 18 as 18mm shaft size, 15 as 15mm width, DU indicating a Glacier brand split bushing. For just one of many supply potential - http://www.ggbearings.com/products.asp To the right is a photo of GTCP supplied pedal bushings, probably 1982 vintage. I do not remember the cost.
