1) I looked at the 400 driver's side driving/signal light (on the bumper) and of course it has completely different numbers. There is no xx.xxx.xxx listed...instead:
A1 E3 7138, P25-2 , 35018 (that's the same as on the other lens) Thanks, Fred

2) There is a lot of confustion regarding these turn signal lights! The 850 light isn't correct for the 350/400gt. It should be an altissimo not carello and the lens has a different shape. The 850 light is the same as the euro bora, ferrari 330 gtc. Many 350/400 owners have replaced the original altissimo lights with the fiat setup since they are easier to find. Jacques

3) The first 350’s were not produced with back up lights or toggle switches for them. Does anyone know more or less which serial number would have been the first to have a backup light installed coming off the production line? Paul

4) Just been browsing some old mag's.The July 24 1965 edition of Autocar features a 350 GT with backup light, whereas the cars in the July 1965 issue of both Car magazine and the July 1965 issue of Road & Track do not feature these lights. So, my guess is that about July 1965 was a turningpoint, backup light-wise... Marcel

6) I finally looked at the lights on my 400 which (I believe) are original. The headlight lenses are: Outside lens, Hella 4463, K11662 2 88870. The Inside lens is also Hella, # 4460, 1-89219. The turn signals (photos attached) are: Drivers side, Altissimo 178-12-99, K23315. The Passenger side is Altissimo 178.12.89, K23315. It is dark out there right now but when there is more light, I will try to read the numbers on the lower part of the turn signal lenses. I may have to remove the fixtures to do that. Cheers, Jack

8) Hi VLGers, All this talk about Carello lights lit up a long-unused part of my memory banks, so I took a trip to the attic and found a new-in-box left-side Carello turn signal/backup light unit. I bought it almost 30 years ago for an Alfa I no longer have, and it's in an Alfa box with part number 102.05.65.073.00, indicating an early 60's 2000. I know the same unit was used on many subsequent models. It appears to be the same unit posted to the Photos section. For what it's worth, here are the Carello numbers for the various components:
Chrome metal housing: 11.535.580
Reflector with socket: 11.535.145
Lens (clear) 18.535.716 SAE R61
Gasket: 11.535.523
I also found a brand new amber lens, also left hand, with the same part number. If anyone is interested I can email hi-res pictures. Mike Roberts Espada 7210
